Cat and stone Buddha-a poem from Katmandhu

Cat and stone Buddha
In the Be
In the courtyard, not accidentally
Buddha is stone still, its
furry Nepalese marble
is not lying,
though reminding me
of still cats
and the capped  uniformed sentry at the gate of the guest house
who nods on my departures and returns
